Third Seminar on the Internationalization of SMEs

Third Seminar of the CROSSBO project

The municipal enterprise PEMSA organized on 23rd March 2006 the third seminar on the internationalization of SMEs, within the framework of the Crossbo project, co-financed by the Enlargement Directorate-General of the European Commission, in which PEMSA participates as a sole representative of the Spanish State.

This is the third and last of the seminars financed within the framework of the Crossbo project, which PEMSA has undertaken to hold, as established in the Letter of Commitment signed by PEMSA in September 2004, as well as in the project application.



The speakers at the seminar along with the managers responsible for foreign trade and who attended the event.

It is a thematic seminar aimed at directors and foreign trade managers, which has brought together in Moncada the main public institutions involved in the internationalization of enterprises in the Valencian Community, which have appointed various representatives; about twenty enterprises of Moncada attended the seminar.

In this sense, the head of the International Project Department of IMPIVA, Rafael Escama, presented the Internationalization Strategy for Innovation of said entity. For its part, Miguel Sotomayor, Head of the Foreign Trade Service of the Territorial Trade Department in Valencia, gave an exposé on the ICEX as an instrument for the internationalization of SMEs, while Pablo Ferrando, technician of the internalization compartment of IVEX, explained the actions of IVEX in point of support for the internationalization of Valencian SMEs. Last but not least, José Luis Cervera, expert in International issues of the consultancy firm Devstat, gave an exposé on the Romanian Business system: business opportunities.

In the course of these three seminars held in March and November 2005 and March 2006, the enterprises of Moncada had an easy and comfortable access to interesting information regarding their internationalization, essential requirement to ensure viability in a more and more globalized environment. For this purpose, Moncada has received the visit of various consultants with proven experience in the field of foreign trade on the markets of Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Russia and Romania, sharing their experience with the entrepreneurs in Moncada.

On the other hand, the aids and subventions available from IVEX, ICEX and IMPIVA to facilitate the establishment of businesses abroad were presented in detail and illustrated with interesting examples and good practices, practical information being provided in this respect.
